Business Asia Journal
Cornell's only undergraduate student-run publication focused on Asia
The Cornell Business Asia Journal is the first student-led publication at Cornell to focus solely on trends in Asian business and politics. Our mission is to act as a resource for students to discover opportunities and expand their insights into Asia.
Founded in 2009, our journal is a bi-annual publication that contains thought-provoking and well-researched articles produced by students across colleges and majors and from both the Undergraduate and Graduate communities.
Additionally, starting in 2014, we are pleased to present our Speaker Series – a unique opportunity for Cornell’s community to interact with individuals who are at the forefront of Asian current events through a mixture of lecture and open discussion.
In Spring 2015, we invited Dr. Shashi Tharoor for the inaugural Business Asia Speaker Series entitled 'Rising Nationalism in Asia: Causes and Ramifications'.
Dr. Tharoor was formerly Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Indian Minister of State for External Affairs. He is currently an Indian Member of Parliament. His opinions and views are highly sought-after globally, and he is a recognized opinion internationally.
For our event, Dr. Tharoor discussed the changing geopolitical landscape in Asia. China's rise to prominence, the role of American foreign policy in the region, and potential options available to India and Japan were all discussed in depth.
We thank Dr. Tharoor for his gracious participation and look forward to our next event in 2016!
